Today, Friday May 10, 2013 is World Lupus Day! I am 1 in over 5 million world wide that have been diagnosed with lupus.
I was
diagnosed with lupus 3 years ago but wasn't properly treated for it
until 2 years ago. Over this time lupus has done an enormous amount of
things to my body including macrocytic anemia, discoid lupus (lupus of
the skin), brain lesions, joint damage, severe migraines (CNS lupus),
organ inflammation, kidney stones, and I could go on.
We lupies need a
cure so we can have a better quality of life along with quantity of
life. We will NOT wait another 100 years for another medication to be
approved by the FDA for our disease. We need to do our part to spread
awareness to educate everyone about lupus. Not only am I a lupus
survivor, but I'm an advocate.
