Am I asking too much?

It's Thursday and by Tuesday of this week I was already capped out on my migraine medication. It's unfortunate when I can only take up to 3 tablets of my medication per week or 9 per month. This is due to the fact that if I take more than recommended the medication may give me rebound migraines. So, I'm left with taking Tramadol; which is the pain medication for Lupus; which isn't as effective as Amerge. So, here I sit with my loud children, in pain from a migraine.

I think my children know I'm more vulnerable when I have a migraine or am in pain and they play on it and act up. I don't know why that is, but it just seems like this. They tend not to listen until I raise my voice then that aggravates my migraine. It's such a two-fold problem.

As far as the medication goes, have you ever noticed the side affects seem to be the same as what they're supposed to fix? My colitis medication causes constipation yet my colitis medication is supposed to help my colon spasms. My migraine medication is supposed to alleviate daily migraines but may causes headaches.

I love the TV commercials that go on to say that this medication could cause death! Yes, that is the exact medication that I'm jumping on to use! I understand the FDA is required to tell the public about potential side affects, but do they really need to televise the medication could cause death? Honestly that scares my children.

I would like to have medication that doesn't cause the same side affects that it's treating me for! I would like to be migraine free for the first time in over 39 years. I would like to be free of pain in my gut. I would like to be pain free in my joints. I would like to be able to sleep at night with out my joints feeling like I'm sleeping on concrete. Is that too much to ask?
